Toronto-based trio The Rural Alberta Adventage (Nils Edenloff, Amy Cole, and Paul Banwatt) formed in 2005. Their debut album Hometowns is written with the main theme of growing up and living in the rural town of Alberta. Edenloff's unusual vocals and the intense and quirky drumming by Banwatt, supported by Cole's synth and backing vocal give the RAA a distinctive sound easily compared to Neutral Milk Hotel whos album In The Aeroplane Over The sea has gathered somewhat of a cult following. Hometowns is a must have album for lovers of indie and folk music.
